growing up in small town illinois, jake sorrill has learned to examine the everyday with a critical eye. at just 21 years old, jake has developed an extensive portfolio peppered with the things we see everyday - flowers, trees, animals - captured in a way that focuses on the object's beauty. just as nature is beautiful, jake manages to find beauty in the harshest of places.
despite his young age, jake has done work which reflects the insight and experience of more senior photographers. he has exhibited in dozens of shows, won awards and has received two grants from the illinois arts council for youth employment in the arts.
